This is what I've been doing all week... It's an outdoor umbrella for the "1st grade" (ie: me) class to paint for the school's auction. I'm drawing the design on and then letting the kids fill in a little circle or if they look especially steady handed, a clover shape- They are so cute and proud of their little circles! My favorite is how the little boys put their hands in their pockets when they're being shy about wanting to paint-adorable.
The whole week has been one big long "kids talking too much" granola bar commercial though- I'm always simutaneously amused at what they all tell me and horrified at what my four must be blabbing all over school. I mean seriously- Elizabeth NEVER stops talking and a lot of the time it doesn't make a lot of sense. God only knows what she tells her teachers...
Luckily for anyone reading this blog, mother's day is coming up, and that means the pre-k "all about our mommies" book. This is a book of drawings each child does of their mom and then they ask them questions like "what does your mommy do all day?". The best part is that they send one home to every household for you to open on mother's day and it is hands down my favorite thing about mother's day when it happens. Cause they put whatever they say in there whether its true or not- One year Hunter (my nephew) put in there that Joey (his mom) liked to watch movies where "skeletons come out of the walls and the bad men make fire". She was like "wa?". Another year one of Mary's friends said that her mom drank wine all day and watched tv on the couch. I've been lucky so far that my kids make up stories that make me look better not worse- they say thing like "she cleans the house all day". I'll be sure and share when the time comes! I'll change names to protect the innocent-

I am loving the assignments at St. James Episcopal Day School! Also, the umbrella looks great... make me one?
i would make you one, but i'm thinking you might want to make your own! you can pretty much paint whatever you want on there- the possibilities are endless!
Thank God no one can understand Elizabeth or we'd be getting visits from social workers.
