Today I moved my things out of mary's closets into our new fancy closet in the master bedroom. It was more exciting and wonderful than I'd imagined. I never knew I had so many clothes! There were things I hadn't seen in a full year- hadn't SEEN. They were all jumbled and stuffed into two old house style closets and now they are all happily hanging freely, breathing in the fresh air, enjoying their new home- color coordinated. Thats right. I know, it probably won't last, but what if it does? How great will that be if i STAY oganized? I'm very excited about all of this. Unfortunately I can't bathe in the bathroom that's attached to the closet yet- we are still waiting on the hot water heater. But soon! Then we will get a big king sized bed with the long coveted select comfort mattress and we will live happily ever after. the end.
One unexpected observation I made when moving my folded clothes into the new drawers in the bathroom is that I have an alarmingly high number of swimsuit coverups. Enough to fill an entire drawer even. A deep drawer. I don't have nearly the same amount of shorts, or tshirts, or even black workoutstyle pants that I wear every day even though I'm allergic to exercise. I'm not sure why this is. Probably has something to do with looking like crap in a swimsuit! Or being allergic to exercise which has led to looking like crap! It's a slippery slope.
In other Oliver family news, I got to see baby Emily C. today with my very own eyes- I pushed her momma out of the way and almost woke her when I exclaimed how cute she was. She's very cute and small and sleepy. I got a little twinge of baby fever even.
Then we spent the afternoon sitting outside talking to kelly and chris while the kids played- and we found a little baby bluejay. He was tee tiny and seemed lost and very scared. We took him inside and gave him a little water and pondered keeping him. I raised many a squirrel and bird with my mom growing up and it rarely ends well. They fall into the toilet or the cat gets them. So we made him comfortable and will take him to the lsu vet school in the morning. Chuck found a baby squirrel last week and took it out there too. I can't imagine how they take care of all of those little baby animules that people must bring? If we alone have brought them 2 in a week- they must get tons! Anyway, we make a small donation when we do as a thanks so hopefully that offsets some of it.
No school tomorrow for the kids- it's teacher conference day. blech.
