laaaazzzzyyy daaays

We're still here- just being very lazy and taking it slow. We're still relatively busy for lazy people, but when 6 people are involved, being unbusy is pretty difficult, if not impossible.

I went to Destin with a friend the week school got out, which was pretty bad timing, but Chuck still let me go, which was very nice. I was gone for 4 nights and they did pretty well with me gone- there was one hairbrush incident because I accidentally took all of them with me and I think they had to make due with some sort of household utensil until Chuck could buy one. The teachers have told me they always know when I'm gone because the girls look a little ragged- it's a small price to pay if you ask me!

Since getting home last Saturday we've done a lot of swimming and eating. Mary is busy mastering super mario bros on her nintendo and we are keeping track of our cucumber and pumpkin plants growing in the yard. Lizzie compulsively runs out to check on them in the mornings and then several more times during the day. Anyone who knows Lizzie will understand her obsession with growing plants and keeping tiny fragile bugs as "pets". She wants a hamster so bad she can taste it and daily lists out all of the animals she wants as pets. It includes but is not limited to a pony, a horsey, a hamster, a rat, a mouse, a frog, a turtle, a kitten and a lady bug. She also has a new habit of finding and wanting to keep "baby worms". These are sometimes giant worms and they are so gross.

Ricky Bobby is a great little addition to our group. He and Rocky are inseparable when home- and inseparable sometimes means tearing around our house chasing each other. We still have to send Rocky off to doggie day care at chuck's office because we were coming home to find the living room rearranged.

Chuck and I have been spending the mornings on the back porch drinking coffee and watching R&R gnash their teeth and chase each other.

So far Ricky's only fault (which could be considered big or small depending on your gross out limit) is liking and eating gross things like poop and dead things. He likes to roll in dead things- usually a dead worm. He sniffs them out and then does a little doggie roll on it. Luckily he's small and easy to bathe.

So thats about it- I have a small art show at Mestizo Restaurant on Acadian here in BR on Monday June 2nd ( I think that's the date) and swim team is getting back into action. We had a practice meet last night and Mary placed 1st in her heat for freetsyle and 2nd in backstroke and breastroke. This is really great considering she in the 9&10 yr age group this year so she's on the younger end and is up against bigger older girls. Yeah, she pretty much kicks butt.

Kate and E and F are pretty sure they don't want to do it, but F and E are now completely swimming all around the pool which is very nice. If I could figure out a way to peel Lizzie off of my leg I'd be awesome!

Go ahead and say it... The kids used the brush attachment from the vacuum cleaner to brush their hair!!!! SO FUNNY! Annie likes to eat poop and roll in poop/dead things too, and she is much larger. It would be nice if I could shrink her down to wiener dog size to wash her.

ha ha about the brush attachment! That is awesome! I'm pretty sure I've seen your girls a few times at the pool. I am always at the baby pool because M is also glued to my side and she's not the greatest swimmer yet.
